Every time you climb into your tractor cab, that first step better be solid. If your left-hand foot step is bent, cracked, or wobbling under your weight, you’re risking a twisted ankle or worse every single day. Muddy boots, icy mornings, or just plain fatigue make that missing or damaged step a real hazard, and this isn’t just about convenience – it’s about preventing the twisted ankles, wrenched backs, or worse that come from unsafe cab entry.
What You’re Getting
- Critical first point of contact that allows proper three-point climbing technique (two hands, one foot) as safety training requires
- Aggressive anti-slip surface that maintains grip even when caked with mud or ice, plus reinforced mounting brackets built to handle daily use
- Corrosion-resistant coating that fights off rust from road salt and fertilizer exposure, built to commercial agriculture standards
- Direct replacement design that bolts right into existing mounting points without modifications
Built for Real Farm Work
These Case IH 85 and 95 series tractors handle everything from loader work around the farmyard to heavy tillage and planting operations. Whether you’re running a compact 485 for orchard work or a powerful 995 pulling heavy implements, you’re constantly getting in and out to check equipment, hook up implements, or make adjustments. Tractor steps take incredible punishment – supporting operators of all sizes in all weather conditions, getting caked with mud and manure, and occasionally serving as impromptu tool rests.
Made to Last
Factory steps take incredible abuse – supporting not just weight but dynamic loads as operators jump down or pull themselves up, so this replacement features reinforced mounting brackets where originals typically crack, and a wider platform that distributes weight better. The anti-slip surface isn’t just painted-on texture that wears smooth – it’s designed to maintain grip even when worn from years of use, with weather-resistant materials that won’t rust through like some original steps.
Installation Notes
Proper step installation is critical for safety – mount at the correct height for your specific tractor and use grade 8 bolts with lock washers, as this isn’t the place for hardware store fasteners. Clean all mounting surfaces before installation and check that the step clears all moving parts through their full travel. While you’re at it, inspect the right-side step since they see the same wear and weather.
